Inferno’s Island Revisited Walkthrough


The Following Steps will guide you through the main storyline:
  1. Joining Inferno’s Legion

Joining the Inferno’s Legion

  1. Travel to Seyda Neen; there, you should receive a letter from a stranger. The letter will lead you to the body of an Imperial hidden behind some rocks. The body can be found across the stream from behind the trading outpost.
  2. Take the scroll and the amulet off of the Imperial’s body. The letter will speak of an arranged meeting between the Imperial and a shipmaster named Opsillian. Opsillian can be found on the docks of Ebonheart.
  3. Speak with Opsillian while wearing the amulet found on the Imperial’s body. No matter how you answer, the shipmaster will offer to take you to the Inferno’s Islands. Your answers to her questions will alter her disposition towards you though. Answering, that you found the letter and amulet and they led you to her will yield the best results.
  4. Once you arrive on the Islands, speak with Lady Ikerizan. She will be the Argonian wearing black armor with a black cape in the courtyard of the North Dock Fortress. (Note: Ikerizan only will speak with you when she is in the courtyard. At night, she goes inside the fortress and will dismiss you if you attempt to talk with her.)
  5. Ikerizan will take the amulet from you and give you a letter for Captain Anderson. Go to Anderson, who can be found in the Guardhouse of the North Dock Fortress. Give him the letter and agree to perform the three menial tasks he offers you.
  6. See Three Menial Tasks section. Once you have completed the three tasks report back to Dock Master Gaellah.
  7. If done correctly, Gaellah should reward you for your work and send you back to speak with Captain Anderson once again.
  8. Anderson will acknowledge your work, but is still not ready to give you any tasks of real importance. He will send you upstairs to speak with Captain Taylor.
  9. After speaking with Captain Taylor, you will be directed to his first mate, Sara Dunston. You can find Sara on the deck of the Leviathan; the large ship docked at the North Dock Fortress.
  10. Sara will ask you to recover a ring she has lost. She will lend you her legion amulet so that you may enter the town of Shadowstar on her behalf.
  11. Travel to the town of Shadowstar and go to the southern dock. There you should see a small hut along the water. Go inside and you will find the Argonian ferryman. Speak with her and she will offer to take you to the Dreugh lair. Accept her offer.
  12. You will now be teleported into the water just north of the Dreugh warlord’s lair. Swim south until you reach a sunken ship. Here you should find a number of Slaughterfish and Dreugh. One of the Dreugh will be a warlord who possesses Sara Dunston’s ring. Defeat this Dreugh and claim the ring.
  13. Return to Sara Dunston, and give her the ring. Note: The ferryman in Shadowstar will now offer to take you back to the North Dock under her travel destinations.
  14. Return to Captain Taylor. Taylor now asks that you steal a book for him. The book can be found in the East Empire Company building in Ebonheart. It will be on a bookshelf in one of the office like rooms. Simply take the book when you find it; you will not be accused of stealing.
  15. Once you are in possession of the book, return to Taylor. He will reward you and instruct you to return to Captain Anderson.
  16. Speak with Anderson and accept his invitation into the Inferno Legion. You will be required to pay 1000 gold to finalize this deal.
  17. Once you are a member of the legion, Anderson will instruct you to go and speak with Borrac. Borrac can be found in one of the upper rooms of the Skull Splitter Inn.

Working to Earn Their Trust

  1. Once you speak with Borrac he will instruct you to travel to the foreign quarter of Vivec on an assassination mission. You must arrive at the foreign quarter within two days time. There you will find a blade’s agent who has supposedly seen things on Inferno’s Islands that he was not meant to see.
  2. Once you find the man, rest until midnight. At midnight he will begin his journey to meet up with his companion.
  3. Follow the blade’s agent from a distance. Every so often he will stop and look around to see if he is being followed. If you are detected, he will attack you and you will lose out on any chance of a reward from Borrac.
  4. Once the agent meets up with his companion, a message should appear informing you to attack now. You have only a few seconds to make your move at this point. Attack the blade’s agent or his companion. This should trigger a dialog message and cause the agent and his companion to attack you. Once they are both defeated, search the body of the agent and you should find his journal. ( Note: This quest has a number of possible outcomes depending on what you do. Feel free to experiment and see what happens. The steps I have listed here are the only ones which will yield a reward in the end. )
  5. Return to Borrac with the blade agent’s report. If done correctly you should be rewarded with an enchanted dagger.
  6. Speak with Borrac again to receive your next assignment. Borrac now wishes for you to spy on Captain Taylor. Specifically, you are to locate a journal of Taylor’s and return it to Borrac.
  7. Travel back to the North Dock Fortress and up to Taylor’s room. Upon the desk, you should see a key. Take this key as it is the Captain’s Cabin key. ( Note: You may forgo taking the key and simply attempt to pick the lock. )
  8. Travel down to the Leviathan and enter the Captain’s Cabin. Jump up on the hammock in the room and turn around so that you are facing the door once again.
  9. Look up towards the ceiling. You should see a tapestry hanging above the desk in the room. On top of the tapestry there will be a key, grab this key as it will unlock the chest that contains Taylor’s journal.
  10. Jump off the hammock and examine the two shields upon a shelf in the room. One of the shields should open a secret compartment with a chest inside. Use the key to open this chest and retrieve the journal from within.
  11. Return to Borrac with the journal and you should be rewarded. Borrac will also give you a letter to give to Captain Anderson.
  12. Return to Captain Anderson in the North Dock Fortress and hand him the letter. You should now be promoted to the next rank within the Inferno Legion.
  13. Speak with Anderson again to receive your next assignment.
  14. Anderson orders you to find a group of rebels hiding somewhere on the islands. You are ordered to eliminate these rebels and return with some type of proof that you have accomplished this task. Anderson knows little about the location of the rebels, but directs you to Bridge Fortress just outside of Shadowstar.
  15. There is an optional quest you can perform at this point that directs you to where the rebels are hiding. The next point will simply tell you where to go.
  16. Travel from the North Dock Fortress to the East Lava Bridge. Cross the bridge, so you are standing on the eastern side. Then travel north off the path and over the rocks towards the water. Swim up the coastline towards the point where the lava meets the water and you should see a small rowboat. Climb ashore near the boat and you should find the entrance to the rebel cavern.
  17. Inside, find and defeat the rebel leader. Check the body and you should find a note explaining some planned attack the rebels have set in motion.
  18. Return the letter to Anderson. He should reward you and then offer you your next task upon speaking with him again.
  19. Anderson now asks you to eliminate the remaining rebels who are waiting for their companions. Since you have already dispatched these companions, you are now ordered to drop in on the remaining rebels and eliminate them as well. Anderson tells you they can be found on the western side of Bazra’s Passage.
  20. Upon entering Bazra’s passage, the rebels will appear and surprise attack you. There will be two rebels at first, but after you defeat one of them, two more will suddenly appear. Dispatch all four rebels then return to Captain Anderson.
  21. Anderson should now promote you and direct you to speak with Lady Ikerizan.

Inferno’s Palace, First Floor

  1. Speak with Lady Ikerizan; she should give you some background information about Ackerman, The Trials, Castle Genra, and Inferno Islands. Only after you have spoken with her about all these topics will she offer you your next assignment.
  2. Ikerizan will grant you permission to enter the Palace of Inferno. At this point you are only granted entry to the chambers on the first floor, and of these you are not allowed entry into the laboratory. Ikerizan orders you to perform three tasks for her before she will grant you further access to the palace.
  3. See Ikerizan’s Three Tasks. Once all three tasks are completed, return to Ikerizan. She should reward you with a new Legion Amulet that has the ability to teleport you to the North Dock Fortress once you wear it. Ikerizan will also give you the key to the palace laboratory and order you to seek out the necromancer Cavxum who can be found there.

Inferno’s Palace, Laboratory

  1. Enter the laboratory in Inferno’s Palace and seek out the necromancer Cavxum. Speak with her and accept her task. She will ask you to find three books for her that contain her journals. Journals which were lost since Castle Genra was overrun with monsters and the survivors were forced to flee.
  2. Return to the ferryman by the southern dock of Shadowstar, she will transport you to Castle Genra. Once you arrive on the island of the castle, enter the main chamber.
  3. The first of the three books will be on the ground next to a skeleton two pillars in front, and one pillar to the left, from where you entered. Once you have this book, continue on to the main tower of the castle.
  4. The second book can be found on the.
  5. The third book can be found on the 5th floor of the castle. Once you open the far door to the room in this chamber, you should trigger a dialog. Approach the figure who spoke with you and answer his questions. The following point, explains the outcome of each answer:
  6. Answer that you have been sent here to find the book, and the figure will tell you to take the book. Upon picking the book up, the two guardians will attack you. Defeat them and the figure will vanish, inviting you to explore further within the castle. Any other answers you give will lead to either the figure or his guardians attacking you. Once the figure has been driven off and uses his magic to escape you can now complete the Castle Genra quests.
  7. Return to Cavxum with the three books and she will reward you. Speak with her again and she will offer another task for you to complete.
  8. This task requires you to collect a number of items. All of which should be found within Castle Genra, but where you acquire them is not important. Once you have all the items Cavxum requested, return to her.
  9. Cavxum will again reward you and offer a third and final task. Cavxum wishes for you to collect a magical gemstone lost somewhere within Castle Genra. She will give you the key to unlocking the box this gem is contained within.
  10. Travel back to Castle Genra and find your way into the dungeon. (Fastest way in: Upon entering the castle, travel to the far wall, enter the first door on your left. Travel straight down the hall, descend the spiral stairs to the bottom.)
  11. Within one of the cells you will see a small box resting atop a stool. Walk up to the box and open it like any chest or container. As long as you are holding the key Cavxum gave you the box will open and you can remove the gemstone.
  12. Return to Cavxum with the gemstone. She will mention something about being able to complete the sword she has been working on. Speaking with her a second time and she will give you the sword. Be sure to keep this sword in your inventory as you won’t be able to access the final dungeons of the plugin without it. Cavxum will then send you off to speak with Ikerizan one last time before being granted an audience with Inferno.
  13. Ikerizan will reveal some more plot information, and then send you back to see Inferno.

Inferno’s Palace, Throne Room

  1. Once you enter the throne room, you can finally speak with Inferno. He will order you to find the Haunted Shrine Key which will grant you access to the Sanctuary of Ackerman. See Ackerman’s Tower Puzzles to learn how to acquire this key. (Note: At this point Inferno will give you Ackerman’s Amulet. This amulet, when worn, will keep any of Ackerman’s guardians from attacking you.)
  2. Once you have the key return to Inferno. He will now give you the order to eliminate Ackerman once and for all. Travel over to The Trials and from there to the Haunted Shrine. Use the key to gain entry.
  3. On the second floor you will find Ackerman’s second in command. A lich named Bazra. There are two ways you can defeat Bazra. You can either defeat him through force, or you can find the object that binds him to Ackerman.
  4. Bazra is bound to Ackerman by his wedding ring. Travel to Bazra’s passage. Take the first offshoot from the main tunnel that leads to the right. This should take you to a passage that goes underwater. From there take the first tunnel on your left. This should take you back above the waters to a room with a number of ghosts.
  5. The room is mostly flooded with some furniture floating in the water. Under the water there will be a skeleton propped against a rock with a spear through its chest. Half buried in the ground under the skeleton’s left hand is Bazra’s wedding ring. Take this ring and return it to Bazra and his spirit will be allowed to rest.
  6. Once Bazra is defeated through either of the above methods, all of Ackerman’s remaining guardians will vanish. Continue on into the Inner Sanctuary.
  7. Here you will find Ackerman and four skeletal guardians. To defeat Ackerman you must first eliminate all four guardians. If even one remains when Ackerman is killed, Ackerman will rise again with full health.
  8. Once Ackerman is defeated, take his staff as proof of your victory and return to Inferno.
  9. Inferno will find that he is unable to touch the staff. He will quickly think of a new plan involving you. You will now be granted permission to all the chambers of the palace and ordered to speak with Lasheria or Lasheriana when you are ready to begin your next assignment. (Note: At this point you may begin the Dewumer Collectors Coin Quest which begins in the Dinning Hall.)
  10. Lasheria or Lasheriana, will now ask you to find the Red Dragon’s Key, which is the key to breaking the final barrier of The Trials. See Ackerman’s Tower Puzzles to learn how to acquire this key.
  11. Once you have the Red Dragon’s Key, return to either Lasheria, or Lasheriana.
  12. At this point Inferno should be gone from the throne room. You will now be ordered to break the final seal of The Trials and discover the secret powers that await within. Once you have found this power, you are to return to the throne room, where Inferno will claim the power as his own and reward you accordingly.

Entering the Chaos Shrine

  1. Be in possession of the Red Dragon’s Key, Ackerman’s Staff, and Cavxum’s Soul Stealer before proceeding any further. Travel to The Trials, the large open courtyard, with the white spire rising up in the center.
  2. Enter the Shrine of Azura. Take the cup resting on the tray and then fill it with water from the cup under the sparkling yellow lights.
  3. Enter the Shrine of Malogbal. Take the cup resting on the tray and then fill it with water from the cup under the sparkling yellow lights.
  4. Return out into the courtyard and walk to the entrance, where the two large statues of Azura are. Beneath each statue there should be an alter with a silver bowl.
  5. Pour the water from the cup of Azura into the bowl labeled ‘DEATH’. The water should dissolve away leaving a gemstone in the bowl. Take it.
  6. Pour the water from the cup of Malogbal into the bowl labeled ‘LIFE’. The water should dissolve away leaving a gemstone in the bowl. Take it.
  7. Now walk across the courtyard and up the white staircase to the room with the large barrier blocking your path. While you have both gemstones in your inventory, walk up to the barrier, it should dissolve before you, allowing you to enter the Chaos Shrine.
  8. The first chamber is a huge cavern like room, above a sea of lava. Upon entering the chamber, travel to your left, up the spiral path until you reach the top of the chamber. Hanging from the ceiling will be a large chandelier.
  9. In front of it will be a number of platforms suspended from the ceiling. Jump from one platform to another until you reach the final platform. Upon it should be a pillow with a gemstone. Take the gemstone.
  10. Wind your way back down to the entrance to the chamber and continue down the right path. Go across the rope bridge to the barrier blocking the doorway. With the gemstone in your inventory, walk into the barrier, it should dissolve before you and grant you access to the next chamber.
  11. Somewhere within the second chamber you will find an alter placed before a pit of lava. Upon that alter you will find a silver bowl with another gemstone. Take this gemstone. As long as you have it in your inventory when you attempt to cross the barrier blocking the next door, you will be able to proceed further.
  12. The final chamber opens up into a huge cavern above another sea of lava. There will be a long stone bridge that leads you towards a temple. There will be many skeletal guardians defending the doorway, so be prepared for a fight. As long as you possess the Red Dragon’s Key, you will be able to open the doorway into the Infernal Tomb.

The Infernal Tomb

  1. The tomb will consist of a large chamber with a teleportation pad in the center and 3 doorways, not including the large double doors you entered from. The doors will be labeled: First of Three, Second of Three, and Third of Three.
  2. Enter the First of Three room and stand upon the teleportation pad in the center of the chamber. Wait 10 to 15 seconds and you should be teleported to a large shrine like chamber. Climb the ramp to the top where a prayer stool is positioned.
  3. At this point drop all the gold you have in your inventory. You will be able to pick it up again shortly. Click on the prayer stool and begin to pray. Do not move for a short while.
  4. The spirit of the room should then speak with you. If you dropped all your gold the spirit will grant you its blessing. You may now pick up your gold and return through the portal to the Infernal Tomb.
  5. Enter the Second of Three room and stand upon the teleportation pad. Again, travel up to the top of the stairs and find the prayer stool. To receive the blessing of this spirit you must have 10 or less health remaining. If you drink from the cup placed upon the alter in this chamber you will lose 10 health. Drink from the cup repeatedly until you have 10 or less health remaining. Now pray at the stool and receive the spirit’s blessing.
  6. Teleport back to the Infernal Tomb and enter the Third of Three chamber. Teleport into the shrine room and climb the stairs to the prayer stool. The spirit of this chamber will with you to prove your strength and send its guardians to attack you. Once you defeat them, pray once again and you should receive the final blessing.
  7. Return to the Infernal Tomb chamber and now stand on the center teleportation platform. You should now be transported to the Chamber of the Sun, Moon, and Stars.

  9. Once you have completed the puzzle, jump into the waters of the Sun, Moon, and Stars chamber to be teleported back to the Infernal Tomb chamber.
  10. Stand once again upon the center teleportation platform and you shall now be transported to the final dungeon, The Infernal Palace.

The Infernal Palace

  1. Upon entering the exterior area of the palace you should trigger a dialog with Inferno. Proceed into the castle and continue on to the main entrance at the far end of the palace.
  2. You should now be in a cross shaped room. Talk with the dark elf to gain some further insights into the storyline. Then continue on through either the left or right door in this room.
  3. The chamber you are now in, is a large tower with 3 levels to it. Each level has 4 doors; one to the north, south, east, and west. To reach the top level take the North door, then the East door, and finally the door that will take you to Infernal Palace, The Path.
  4. The Path is simply a maze through dark corridors. I believe the simplest way out is to travel straight down the center path, continue one until you reach a corner where you come down some stairs, turn the corner, and then go up another flight of stairs. At the end of the hall will be a key hanging from a large crystal. Next to the crystal will be a doorway.
  5. Go through the door and travel across the battlements of the palace to the center towers. Descend the stairs and exit through the door on your right.
  6. Continue across the battlements to the main gate towers. Inside you must descend the stairs to the connecting tunnel which will take you to the other tower. Travel back up to the top floor. On a table in this room, will be a tray with a key. Take the key and leave the room through the north door.
  7. Again travel along the battlements to the center towers. Climb the stairs and leave through the north door. Use the key you just picked up to unlock the door at the end of the bridge.
  8. This chamber is called The Fire. It’s another large tower, with a pool of lava at its base. Climb down the spiral stairway in the center of the chamber until you reach a stone platform at the base. Activate the platform and it will act as an elevator, taking you down towards the door just above the lava pool.
  9. Note: There are many skeletal archers who will begin to fire on you as you drop down into the main chamber. Either wait until the platform reaches the level of the doorway, or simply jump off to the platform and go through the door.
  10. You should now be in a chamber called The Ice. Directly across from you is a door leading to the final boss. There will be blades swinging from the ceiling of the chamber, if they touch you, you will die instantly. To the left and right of the center area with the blades will be skeletal archers, 6 of them. On the far side of the room, there will be two large guardians protecting the doorway to the final chamber of the palace. Cross the room and exit through the doorway.
  11. This is the final chamber of the palace. Walk across the bridge and up the stairs to confront Inferno’s guardians. Defeat them and then face Inferno himself. What happens from here on out, I’ll leave for you to find out.

Three Menial Tasks

Task One: Ssalizar’s Item Hunt

  1. Speak with Ssalizar the alchemist. She has an open-air shop in the courtyard of the north dock fortress. She will ask you to collect some items that can easily be found in the waters around the dock itself. Once you have collected the items, return to Ssalizar. She should reward and give you a letter of recommendation for Captain Anderson.

Task Two: The Bridgekeepers

  1. After receiving the three menial tasks from Anderson, go and speak with Gaellah. He can be found in the same room as Anderson, behind the desk by the fireplace. Gaellah will, among other things, give you a legion amulet and some money.
  2. Travel to the town of Shadowstar, and enter the Skull Splitter Inn. Talk with the man behind the main desk. He will offer to sell you two bags of food. Accept the offer.
  3. Now travel to the south towers of each lava bridge. There will be a lava bridge to the east, and west, of the north dock fortress as you follow the path. Speak with the bridgekeepers in the basements of the two southern towers and agree to give them one bag of food and half the leftover gold each. Once complete, you should now possess two status reports from them.

Task Three: Messenger Service

  1. Take the letter Gaellah gives you and travel to Caldera.
  2. You will find the mage Herjoth in the upper floor of the tower in the Guild of Mages. Speak with Herjoth and give him the letter from Gaellah. Herjoth should immediately use his magic to teleport away.
