Modder Permissions - Reuploading
Reuploading Using in Mods Altering/Retexturing Oblivion Conversion Compilations Translations

There's a lot of different Modder Usage OKs

These pages are meant to be a guide to help you figure out what's OK and what's not.
Please do read all modder readme's carefully of course,
and it's still a nice idea to contact the modder when possible.

(Also, the info on this page is related specifically to uploading.
The other pages will have further usage info from each modder.)

Yeah, all the mods I've uploaded to tesmods.net and will upload in the future are free for distribution 'as is' =)
EDIT: non-commercial distribution, that is.

If someone contacts me for permission to host one of my mods, I may give permission
(will obviously have to take a look at the site first), so long as I am properly identified as the author, and the
mod is not modified from the released version (with the obvious exception of foreign language translations, of course).

That said, I will only give permission for the most current version.
Under no circumstances will I ever give anyone permission to upload an older version of one of my mods.
If someone wants an older version of one of my mods (why?), they will have to contact me directly
(I do have most of the earlier released versions of my mods archived).

blockhead

Upload, copy, swap, share, p2p, whatever my plugins wherever you want.
Just try to mention my name and where you got it. Distribution via CD/DVD/whatever-comes-next is also fine,
so long as my name ("Peter Capasso") and nickname ("Blockhead") both appear with the plugin on the CD
(simply including the readme file for each plugin as-is is enough to accomplish this).

Once again, it is ok to upload my plugins to other pages.
If (for example) you don't see one of my plugins on www.blah.newmorrowindsite.com, then upload it there. it's ok. smile.gif

And for those wondering "what plugins does he mean?" smile.gif ...

http://www.bestweb.net/~pogo/stuff.html ... then scroll down to the Morrowind section.

All my stuff can be uploaded as long as it stays the way it was originally packaged.

BungaDunga

April 19, 2005

My mods can be reuploaded without asking permission if
A) All sites they are uploaded on have been down for at least two weeks and
B ) I am unreachable for at least a month. You also have to make a reasonable effort to contact me.

May 1 2005

If anybody wishes to upload one of my mods i would like to be emailed first, just so i know where they are being hosted.
I would also request they be uploaded intact and unchanged.

Don't have to contact both of us, but at least one of us should be asked.

Feb 22 2005

All of my Morrowind mods can be edited, hacked apart, re-hosted, etc without permission or credit.

Clavis

August 14 2006
Since what I put together is modder's resources, its only fair that if a modder want them, they have them.
The readme must be included and whoever re-uploads (needs to) shoot me a note detailing what and where.
My email is in the readme file I include with each resource.

Counciler

September 14 2006

You may modify my mods at your discretion for your own personal use so long as you do not re-upload them
as a different version of the original. If you plan to re-upload my mods to any other site
than Planet Elder Scrolls (Where I upload my mods), you MUST ask persmission before doing so.
Please do not use RapidShare or FTP servers. Please do not send them via e-mail. Thank you.

Crack Danielz

August 11 2006

Everyone has my full permission to upload any of my work, at any time.
That's why I made it available in the first place - so others can see what I have added to this world, and share in the fun.

April 19 2005

I don't mind anyone distributing my mods, as long as nothing is changed,
added or taken out of my mods, my readmes are intact and my name is listed as the author.
I'd like to request from anyone who uploads my mods to send me a link so I can update my website.

DMKW

May 2 2005

All mods i have publically released can be uploaded to any webpage for redistribution withought my permission.
If the mod was a personal mod of mine and i sent it to you through PM, IM or e-mail
then i'd appreciate it if you asked my permission to incorporate it in your mod. Thank you

Dvd

April 30 2005

You may rip, re-distribute, re-patch, change, add, ect., to any mod of mine as long as you give credit that the original mod
was my work. IF, my name is on a mod that also was the work of 1 more people, then at least 50%
of the people who worked on the mod, besides me, must say "Ok" to re-distribution before you may re-upload it.
If I am un-available then you may re-distribute whether or not you have my Ok.
You may also copy and paste parts of my mod into your mod as long as you give credit where it is due.
If I used resources from some one else in my mod you must ALSO ask them if it is ok to re-distribute.
Now, I hereby say "Yes, you may re-upload any mod of mine." Amen. -Dvd

My plugins, resources, textures, meshes, icons or any other material released
in relation to Elder Scrolls modding can be used, altered, translated, re-uploaded, rereleased,
converted, mangled and reuploaded in partial or in full to temporary or permanent locations.
They can also be patched, updated or upgraded
(even where the update or upgrade is not objectively superior to the original),
given that the original file is included in an 'Alternates' directory within the archive
and a document in .txt format explains the changes that have been made in the 'patch' (or whatever).
The original readme should be included in full and left unaltered.
Contact and credit would be appreciated before any action is taken,
but if for whatever reason I cannot be contacted within a week, then don't worry about it.

Any exceptions to the above will be noted in the readme that came archived
with the resources/mod/ES-related material in question.

My website(s) can also be re-uploaded in the event of their disappearance,
but they should be left in their existing state and not altered in any way.

August 11 2006
Any mod of mine may be used as people see fit.
The only restrictions would be resources I have used from others.
Those are listed in the readme's.

Eveeran_Knight

August 12 2006
All my mods which don't have a different release provision in the read-me file
(and at this point, I doubt that I will change it for any of them), will be released with the following provisions:

NONE OF MY ARTWORK OR OTHER WORK MAY BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH
ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES IN ANY COUNTRY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

My mods may be uploaded to any legal website where free downloading is allowed,
but you must keep the origional file(s) intact, with the origional filename, and I must be identified as the author.

F

August 14 2006
As long as I am active I would like to maintain control over where my mods are hosted.
That being said my mods can be uploaded to others sites as long as I am contacted regarding the site
so that when/if I make any updates I will know where to add those updates.

Should I no longer be modding, and/or drop out of site/contact,
feel free to upload my mods or use my materials as you wish,
however always respect content by other modders and follow proceedure.

In all things Respect Bethesda's rules & guidlines and use no content for illegal purposes.

Fliggerty

August 11 2006

As long as I am actively involved around here, I'd prefer it if my mods only stayed available
from PES or my website. But if I ever go AWOL for any decent amount of time, please feel free to upload
and redistribute my work as desired. Please maintain file structure and readmes.

G

Grumpy

July 21 2005

Before he passed away, we made an agreement that I would take over full responsibility for and support of his mods.
We discussed uploading, and he said he thought it would be enough if his mods were available on my site and on Elric's.
So, if someone wants to discuss further uploading, they should contact me on either of these e-mail addresses:
Grumpymods@lovkullen.net or Emma9158@hotmaill.com

Is it also Ok for your work to be reuploaded to mod host sites
if if becomes unavailable and you are unreachable?

Illtempered

Feb 21 2005 / April 19 2005

I don't have the longest list of released plugins, but anyone has my permission to use and distribute them, in any way they see fit.
Any of my stuff is free-game. Credit would be nice, but you don't have to ask for permission.
I don't want any of my plugins to fall into Oblivion, so whatever. Most of them are at TesMods, which sadly, is passing on.
Some of them are large in filesize, and would be a pain to re-upload everywhere,
with my terrible 56k connection. If anyone wants to dl/ul/ or just pass on through email, any of those plugins, feel free.

It's nothing too extraordinary, but I'm proud of it all, and enjoy using them all in my own save.
I haven't made any unique meshes. Just a few textures, a few scripts(mostly becuause of other's help),
and a lot of world-building, blood, sweat, and tears.

J

Jarrod

April 7 2006
All textures made for morrowind that i did and all textures that i made for oblivion can be used,
as long as credit is given where its due.

jaxalot

May 1 2005

Jaxalot's Usage Policy:
You may not re-distribute my mods in any form - whether you've altered them or not - without my permission.
If you *have* altered them, the answer will be no. Do not use any part of my mods in your own without my permission.

If you are unable to reach me, you may assume that the answer is no.

Excluded from this policy are resources made by other authors and included in my mods (with their permission, of course).
If you wish to use these, ask the original author for permission or find their usage policy.

Kieve Update - August 11 2006:
Jaxalot passed control over his mods to me when he decided to leave modding for good.
Some of you might remember a post to that effect a few months back...
I'm not overturning his "No Re-uploading" rule, but I would like an addendum
that I be contacted should the current uploads be lost
(I think all his mods are on PES at the moment, so that shouldn't be a problem)

Jeremy

Feb 5 2005

If your work becomes unavailable and you are unreachable, can your work be reuploaded?
Yes, I would be grateful for that.

August 11 2006
I would like my mods to be only put on either my site or ElricM. Should ElricM go down,
please contact me before uploading. IF I am not available, then go ahead and upload.
I just want control over where the mods go so if I have to update/change anything,
I know which sites needed to be changed. IF for some reason a mod I have released isn't on ElricM,
then contact me and I will either try to get it up or give permission to upload it.

Korana

April 30 2005

Any mods I have created are available to re-upload. I do ask that at least one email to me is attempted.
I would like to know where my mods are hosted, in case of an update.

Lady E and Proudfoot

August 29 2006

I give my permission to modders to freely distribute and use my models and mods,
as long as they do not chop the models up and re-release them.
As long as they do not use the resources for other games other then Morrowind.
As long as they give credit for work done.
PF will have to give permission seperately, as I cannot speak for him.
He did the textures on most of my models. - Lady E

Greenlight on my stuff, enjoy. - Proudfoot

Lady Rae

March 27 2006
Any mod I've made can be altered, re-uploaded, translated, re-released,
converted and pretty much anything else people might possibly want to do with them.

However, anyone who does any of this, please make sure to give credit to those I've listed in the readme.

Enjoy.

Langy

April 19 2005

Anything that's my own work is free game - not that there's much of it out there, currently.
Now, if I were to have someone else's work included in a mod I released, then all bets are off
- the other person might not want you to redistribute their work, and I'd have to bow to their will on those matters.

Still, anything I make you can steal, pilfer, change, modulate, and in general distribute in any way, shape, or form you wish.

Leeloo

April 30 2005

You may not alter, modify or re-upload my mods to hosting sites due to the fact I am constantly updating them and I like to know where they're hosted. Thank you, Leeloo

lochnarus

April 21 2006

EVERYONE NOW HAS FREE REIGN OVER MY MODS.
You can mangle, reconstruct, reconfigure, and dissect anything and everything
I have ever done to your liking as you see fit etc. I have no current use for it
and I don't foresee that happening in the future.
You dont need to give me credit or anything else with my handle in the readme blah blah....

Remember, this goes for MW mods only.
I'm working on Oblivion stuff for someone and these above rules don't apply to Oblivion.

Use, Abuse, Fold, Spindle, Mutilate, but give me credit, notify me at the email address in the readme
AND if its not something "I" created you must give credit to those listed in my readmes.
Feel free to upload anywhere except The Summit. If you upload to The Summit or do not contact me,
I will hunt you down and force you to play pinochle with Fargoth....for eternity.

Patrograd2

Feb 22 2005

If anyone wishes to upload my mods, please feel free to do so. All I ask is that you let me know,
and give me details on how I can update if so required.

Pendraia

Has a free distribute open source policy with her mods.

Phijama

August 14 2006
My stuff is free to use so long as credit is given. When I say free, I mean FREE.
No aspect of my work should be used for profit making purposes, not that anyone would!

princess_stomper

Feb 22 2005 / April 19 2005

All of my mods are free-distribution. You can upload my mods anywhere - all I ask is credit where it's due.

Any of my mods that are version 0.9 or 0.999 are usually intended for future update:
You are free to distribute, but I would appreciate being contacted if you plan to distribute an upgraded
(not by me) version as it may conflict with my own planned update.

Pwnz0r

Feb 21 2005

If anyone happens to have any of the few mods I released back in the day (i.e., last fall) feel free to re-upload them somewhere.
They were on Euro and it apparently went down.

Feel free to upload my mods to any site.

redwoodtreesprite

August 14 2006
My basic uploading info that is in my readmes:

You are free to redistribute this mod if I become unavailable.
HOWEVER, you must make an attempt to contact me, allow at least a month for me to respond,
and then if you do upload this pack to a download site, you must send me an email notifying me of the upload.

You may send this mod without contacting me to anyone via email, and may upload it
to a temporary location like You Send It that keeps the download available for a very short span of time,
but NOT to upload sites like RapidShare that keep downloads up indefinitely.

reiella

April 19 2005

Good News: Feel free to re-use my work / redistribute / yada.
Only problem that there might be is the redistribution/reuse of other people's work that I've used,
but they should be credited in my readme, so ask them.

Rogue_Shadow

August 11 2006

Any of my mods are free for redistribution, translation, and the like.
All I ask is keep the readme and mod intact (translating the obvious exception).
Any of my original work can be treated as a modder's resource, but more often than not I also use someone else's,
so consult the readme concerning that. I released them for public consumption, and that's how I'd like them to stay!

S

Shezrie

August 12 2006
I want them to stay on PES and my own site for now. My Webpage
Do not compile and release in a larger mod without permission.
My mods are still very new and subject to updates and expansions on a mere whim, so I need to keep track of them.

Silaria

May 3 2005

If you want to add my mods onto another massive modding download page, you can do that.
Just make sure you ... put my name in the credits.

Jul 8 2005

If anyone wishes, they are more than welcome to upload stuff on their own.

Static_Nation

August 11 2006
Do as you see fit. In every sense.

Please leave readme's intact (add it as a source readme to your pack)(this is so everyone gets credit)
give me a email if you want (i would like a heads up so i can see what ya did with it)

Document changes
no email is required if you are uploading an archived version of a site that is not longer in existance
in such a case just upload them so that the community may have them
(ie. Euro Morrowind Recovered Mods)

Starcon5

August 11 2006

OK to reupload.
"free to use as long credit is given in their readme file"

Szazmyrr3

Feb 21 2005

All of my Morrowind mods can be edited, hacked apart, re-hosted, etc without permission or credit.

So, I'm fine with anyone doing anything with any of my Morrowind mods.

T

Feb 21 2005

All of my released mods (a whopping two as of right now) have my permission to be redistributed.

The Mad God

April 20 2005

For future reference in case there's another legal/moral debate over modders intent in the future,
anyone can redistribute or host any of my mods as long as they're redistributed completely and unaltered.

The_inwah

Sure I'll sign (smile.gif) though good luck finding any mod I've made (laugh.gif)

Trey Leavens

August 14 2006
I'd prefer to upload stuff myself, so i can ensure the latest version is available and give tech support
and get feedback and smileys and all that great stuff, but feel free to make a copy of a copy of a copy
and spread the insanity to the far reaches of the universe.

Agreed - any of my prior releases anywhere can be uploaded for further distribution
(with the exception of the Morkeleb beta release from Euro-Morrowind and the Nerevana Temple since its undergoing a makeover.)
I also wish all my mods left in their original packaging including readme etc..
Please email me first with details if you do intend to re-upload so I can approve the site and link to it for purposes of updating etc.
