Most of these mods will conflict with each other; be selective. Readme files can be helpful.
Please carefully review these Cautions if you are new to mod use or using this list for the first time.
  • Amael's Particle FX and the Direct Download
This mod adds elemental particle effects (fire, ice, earth, water, light or dark) to your Morrowind character. They are purely visual and have no effect on gameplay except that they occupy the helmet armour slot on your character. Requires Tribunal.
  • Better Glow 1.2 by Tapani_doe
This is my Better Glow mod that alters the enchanted item glow. I tried to make something a bit different than other mods that do the same thing.
  • Correct Spell Sounds 1.0 by Zenner
Changes the sounds to match the School of Magicka. Mainly for use with Horatio's Spellcasting Mod. Requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon
  • Enchantment Colors De-Enhancer 1.0 by Evil Sorcerer
If you never liked how the enchantment's shimmering effects on items; got in the way of nice parts of cool textures, and/or thought it looked cheap or something, then all you need to do is download this, and then all the enchantments in the game will be much, much more mellowed and not as bright.
  • Enchantment Colors Enhancer 1.0 by Evil Sorcerer
This mod alters the enchantment colors (for the better) of many of Morrowind's magic effects. For example, Shock is now bright, bright BRIGHT yellow instead of a dull, washed out puke color. Fire is now an intense, deep, and more bright orange-red, really looks nice Frost is now a much deeper shade of blue, but still looks cold. Almost every effect is readily distinguishable from each other, without having the new shades too closely resembling any other old or new shades.
  • Enchantment Effect Tweak 1.0 by Gilrad
These little files will change the glow effect on enchanted items, getting rid of that annoying effect that so constantly plagues our retinas. Included are three variations that I have made, each with a different thing in mind.
  • Frostball Improved 1.1 by razorfett147
Replaces the stock frost magic projectile with one of four different versions - Crystal, Flare, Foamy and Sphere.
  • Glow-Away 1.0 by Zeanu
Are you unhappy with the way enchanted items glow so annoyingly? This, I find very unrealistic as if you smeared the item with some sort of Happy-Glowy-Paste? At first it seemed kind of nice but then it started to irritate me because it would give away a character using an enchanted item thus ruining the surprise. This plugin simply removes that glow effect of ALL enchanted items.
  • Illusion Blast Tweak 1.0 by Luminar
This mod gives spells from the Illusion school a proper blast effect rather than the unimpressive green bubbles on the impact area.
  • Illusionbolt Improved by razorfett147
Replaces the illusion magic projectile for the Light, Blind, and Nighteye spells with an alternative to the original Bethesda model.
  • Improved No Glow by Shadre
This mod does two things: It removes the plastic or saran wrap effect from all enchanted items. And, unlike other no glow mods, allows Detect spells to work as they should, that is coloured circles appear on the map when near an item an active spell detects.
  • Magic Effect Elemental Glow by Vinz75 and the Wiwiland Download and Screenshot
The colour of the magic glow for enchanted items is changed according to the spell effect used for enchanting. Fire damage emits an orange glow, cold damage a light blue glow, lightning a white glow, poison a brown/green glow, damage health a red glow, while protection spells emit a very light yellow glow and other non-damaging spells emit a very light blue-gray glow.
  • Magic Glow as Reflect Maps 1.0 by DzeI aka J
No more plastic wraps or no-glows needed! This mod replaces the magic glow effect to be a reflect map for any item in the game.
  • Max's Glow 1.0 by Max a.k.a. ~NOOBDY~
This is a variant of the popular no-glow concept. Makes the glow of the enchanted items look like small flashes of... well, the only thing that came to my mind was electricity, so that's it I guess.
  • Morrowind Magic Aura Replacement Textures 1.0 by BunnyX
Textures only to reduce or alter the plastic wrap effect on enchanted items. 4 different zips included, for choice, simply drop the tex into a folder magic item in your tex file.To use, unzip any ONE of the packs into your morrowind directory inmagic item folder.
  • New Fire Damage Effect 1.1 by Mad DJ
This mod replaces (only) the fire damage hit effect using a mesh by Lady Eternity so it looks better.
  • New (Improved) Magic Shimmer Effect by Tclord
A new improved magic shimmer effect replacement for Morrowind. I think it looks more like the item has electric arcs dancing over it sort of. Like it's crackling with energy. Is it better? Well, give it a try and judge for yourself. I mean, We ARE talking about something subjective here, aren't we? How can I say if you'll like it better? :)
  • New (Improved) Magic Shimmer Effect - Reduced Intensity by Tclord
A new improved magic shimmer effect replacement for Morrowind. I think it looks more like the item has electric arcs dancing over it sort of. Like it's crackling with energy. Is it better? Well, give it a try and judge for yourself. I mean, We ARE talking about something subjective here, aren't we? How can I say if you'll like it better? :)
  • No Glo 1.0 by Cunomaglus
A quick little change to remove the glow effect from all your magic items. Now you can be inconspicuous once more.
  • No-Glo_Revisited 1.0 by Shrax
This mod edits the original No-Glo mod by including the spell effects found in Bloodmoon (Call Bear and Call Wolf). Whenever I started up the game with this expansion and No-Glo, a warning message appeared saying that one of the mods running is out of date with one or more master files. With this mod, no error messages of that nature are received because of the out-of-date mod and both spells' enchantment colors from Bloodmoon have been set to 0 like all the others, making them transparent.
  • No Plastic Effect Enchanted Items 1.0 by Rhino
Install in MW textures. This should completely remove the plastic effect that encompassed enchanted items. Works with both Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • No Shield Effect 1.0 by wesslen
This plugin will disable the egg-like Shield effect and reduce the glow around items that have been enchanted with the Shield spell.
  • Plastic Effect Reduction-Tribunal 1.2 by Saralas
Removes the plastic look from magic equip.
  • Shimmer Reduction by MagicNakor
This mod changes the enchantment effect from a plastic-wrap look to a more subtle shimmer.
  • Subtle Magic Glow 1.0 by atteSmythe
Subtle Magic Glow replaces the 'plastic wrap' around in-game magic items (those equipped by characters or on the ground) with less-obtrusive versions. There are three available: A more transparent version of the Bethesda original, one that is faint but nonmoving, and one that is nonmoving but slowly fades in and out.
  • Thaedyn's Super Subtle Glo by Thaedyn Vyr
The textures are not sharp or clear and the level is toned down quite a lot. On lighter items it is hard to see but on items that are black or close to it, the glow shows a subtle effect.
  • The Enchanter Compilation
Puts several effects plugins together into one download.
No Shield Effect Plugin by Daniel Wesslén - removes the egg-like effect.
New Improved Magic Item Shimmer Effect by Tclord - puts a better shimmer effect on magical item that looks lik some kind of energy flow.
  • Vfx_bubble Plugin by Vilkacis - Final Version
This plugin changes the appearance of the magical effect: shield.
  • Wakim's Game Improvements (with No-glo)
This version of the compilation of Wakim's tweaks has been modified to also eliminate all plastic sheen from enchanted objects, courtesy of Grumblepunk.
