Mythic Mods  >>   Theme Mod Lists  >>   Daggerfall Inspired Mods  |     |   Mod Forum

Thanks to Zenogias, Vorwoda_the_Black and GhanBuriGhan for this list that exists entirely as a result of their suggestions in this ES Forum thread, now lost - How to: Turn Morrowind into Daggerfall (somewhat).   Please see these Cautions - if using this list for the first time.

Contents:

    Races:
  • Daggerfall Khajiit Update 2
by Agouti. Adds a new Khajiit race, more like they are in Daggerfall. They look like a person with a tattooed face, stand upright, have a tail and the same stats as the original Khajiit which this mod does not overwrite. 1.2MB.
  • Ohmes-Raht Khajiit Mod
by Ohmes. Adds an additional playable race to Morrowind, the Ohmes-Rhat Khajiit, the more elf-like race of Khajiit that was present in Daggerfall. 1.7 MB.
    Quests & Factions:
  • Abandoned Well at Dagon Fel
by jman0war. Adds a large, dark and very detailed Daggerfall-esque dungeon and artifact.
  • Black Queen Chronicles 2.5
by Tenaka. Level 15+. Adds a series of quests from the Daggerfall characters, Morgiah and the King of Worms. Incompatible with Morgiah's Castle, Savant Armor and Prison Ship Escape, from which it is developed. Note that v.2.5 entirely replaces v.2.4: it is not a patch. Requires Tribunal.
  • Havish 1.2
by J.O.G. Adds an island West of Vvardenfell with a huge Daggerfall-esque city complete with its own Fighter, Mage and Thieves Guilds and associated quests. Get Havish and the Havish Update patch. Requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • Privateer's Hold
by Jman0warS and ManaUser. An alternate beginning mod which faithfully recreates the starter dungeon from Daggerfall.
A Ebony Dagger Addon by redwoodtreesprite is also available.
  • The Modern Adventurer Volume 6
by B, GhanBuriGhan, Raptormeat, S. The 6th edition, containing six issues of the Modern Adventurer, Morrowind's only in-game journal, plus the Modern Adventurer offices and a few quests and dungeons. Requires Tribunal.
  • The Old Unused Well of Pelagiad
by jman0war. Adds a quest to find out why the water in the Well of Pelagiad was making the residents ill, leading to a well-designed and large dungeon with the mood and feeling of classic Daggerfall dungeon crawling.
    Game Improvements & NPCs:
  • Daggerfall City
by Richard "Alphasim" Heil. Adds a small Daggerfall-type city to Vvardenfell and several sounds, including the guards’ infamous "Halt! Halt!" from Daggerfall. Requires Tribunal and Giants 2.0.
  • The Halt Mod - Beta 1
by Bloody Reaper. This mod will make all the guards say the famous "Halt!" challenge when you attack them, steal something or just get too close to them, without the extra dependencies of Daggerfall City.
  • Hitto's Useless ACE Addons
by Hitto. Backstabbing was a skill in Daggerfall that was quite fun for thief-type characters to train in. This mod simulates backstabbing by giving a bonus to Short Blade based on your Sneak skill. Requires Tribunal.
  • Lock Bash Enhanced 1.5
by TheLys. Allows the player to open most locked doors and containers by bashing them. Includes an option to make many doors in town locked at night. Requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • Morrowind Comes Alive 4.1 Final
by Neoptolemus. Adds over a thousand NPCs to levelled lists to make the wilderness and towns more realistic. They are all compatible with mods such as Give Your Orders, Dracandros Voice and Vampire Embrace . Definitely helps in creating a more lively atmosphere like Daggerfall. Requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • MCA Names 4.1
by blake. Provides lore correct and gender-specific names for each of the NPCs added by Morrowind Comes Alive 4.1. Requires MCA 4.1, Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • Morrowind Comes Alive 4.1 Addons
by Marbred and others. ten or more mods adding various weapons, armour and clothing to MCA 4.1 NPCs. Require MCA 4.1, Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • Morrowind Comes Alive 5.2
by Neoptolemus. Randomly adds over 1000 types of NPCs with random heads, hair, and equipment to over 450 cells via leveled lists to bring Morrowind to life. Many additions from version 4.1 and recruitment mods no longer work on MCA 5.x generated NPCs - Vampire Embrace, Dracandros' Voice and Give Your Orders . Requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • Nighttime Door Locks-LD 1.1a
by LDones, originally created by Rasputin. Locks house and shop doors in Vvardenfell from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Inns, Guild Halls, certain tradehouses and some other buildings remain open. Currently the expansions are not included: see the Notes in the download for locations.
  • Service Requirements
modified by makeshiftwings, original by Vanhike. Makes a number of changes that mainly result in your rank and faction membership determining what services you can use and at what price.
  • The Vertical Limit - Climbing Mod 1.02
by GhanBuriGhan. Adds climbing to the game, in a way similar to Daggerfall. You can now climb almost every obstacle with a more or less vertical surface if you have the necessary skill, dependent on acrobatics, and the equipment, available from a number of sources. Requires Tribunal.
  • Werewolf Evolution 1.0
by Cortex. Also at the Summit. Calculates werewolf stats as bonuses to human stats, as in Daggerfall, instead of stats with fixed values as in Bloodmoon. Requires Bloodmoon.
    Items & Clothing:
  • Artifacts 1.1
by Lord Xeen. This mod adds three artifacts familiar to Daggerfall players. The Wabbajack is a staff that magically transforms enemies into a random other monster type, The Sanguine Rose summons Daedroth servants, while the Ebony Blade is a power life-leeching Ebony katana. Also Auriel's Shield and Bow are enchanted like they were in Daggerfall. Requires Tribunal and Giants.
  • The following three mods provide attractive women’s armour and clothing as in Daggerfall:
    Avenger's Female Armor Pack ~ Fixed 2.0
by Avenger. Adds female versions to all armours found in Morrowind and the Tribunal expansion. Don't use this if you are using the "Domina" style armour replacers. Requires the official LeFemm armor plugin.
    Avenger's Female Shirts Pack ~ Updated 2.0
by Avenger. Adds female versions of all common/expensive/extravagant/exquisite shirts in Morrowind.
    Robe Replacer
by Canadian Ice and Brady228. Replaces all the female robes using Hurdy Gurdy's meshes and replaces the enchanted and unique male robes to match.
  • Bookrbq
by Threesixty, at TES Nexus. This mod puts the missing [R-rated] Daggerfall text back into The Real Barenziah, Part II, removed by the Temple in Morrowind.
  • Daggerfall Artifacts  [Searching for an un-corrupted copy]
by Chris. Adds several artifacts to the game world that were in Daggerfall: Ebony Blade, Sanguine Rose, Namira's Ring, another Skeleton Key and the correct enchantments for Volendrung, Auriel's Shield and Auriel's Bow.
Extra Artifacts 1.1 and Extra Artifacts 2.1
also by Chris, together add a further twenty artifacts.
  • Daggerfall Book Collection
by Launcelot. Adds forty-six books that were in Daggerfall but not included in Morrowind. Also included are fifteen volumes that are combined omnibus editions of Morrowind multi-volume series. Three versions of the collection are released in separate zips.
  • Daggerfall Style Hircine Ring 2.0
by The Mad God. Modifies Hircine's Ring to work as it did in Daggerfall.
  • The Lost Artifacts of Morrowind
by Rogue Shadow, Sterling, Case, Palinurus and Oriphier. Adds over twenty artifacts brought back from previous TES Games, all except Namira's Ring and Wabbajack. Includes a separate mod that restores all artifacts included in Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon to lore accuracy - 10.50 MB.
  • Pocket Guide to the Empire 1.1
by Xanathar. Adds The Pocket Guide to the Empire, released by Tiber Septim to spread his anti-elven propaganda while at war with the Aldmeri Dominion. Although now rather outdated, the Guide is an essential document to learn the general characteristic of Tamriel inhabitants. Updated with map images in BookArt folder.
    Horses:
  • If Wishes Were Horses
by MagicNakor. Allows the player to ride a horse or a Nightmare.Requires Tribunal or Bloodmoon.
  • If Wishes Were Horses - Saddles Addon FU(Full)
by AcidBasik. Adds saddles for both horses and Nightmares for the 'F' version of If Wishes Were Horses. Requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon.

by Joel Braddock a.k.a. Mantodea. Adds a Daggerfall-style ebony dagger. 103 Kb.
  • Elven Weapons
by I.M. Börd. Adds to Morrowind the class of Elven weapons from Daggerfall. Somewhere in between Silver and Dwarven weaponry, you can find them at any Fighters Guild and select shops, as well as added to the levelled lists.
    Institutions:
  • Indy Bank 2.4a
by Indestructible, reworked by KillerBeer. A clean, well-designed mod bringing banks like those of Daggerfall into Morrowind. You can deposit gold, take out loans and purchase houses.

Cautions: This is a mod list, not a listing of compatible mods nor a specific endorsement of any that are here listed. Some mods are likely to conflict with others. See Telesphoros' List o' Mods for play tested mods and some recommendations on compatibility.

Read the readmes and start small to avoid problems. Some of these mods may still need to be cleaned of "Evil" GMSTs. Remember also to always backup your files before messing around with mods (especially Data Files, Save Games, and Morrowind.ini).

See Starting Out With Mods first if you are new to mods or new to Morrowind for PC. It is recommended reading before you start down-loading mods and messing up your game.

Please note that some mod makers patch and version their mods quite frequently. Links on this list therefore may not always point to the most current version: it is often worth double-checking the author's home site or the major download sites to ensure you have the most recent release. Also, mods are not removed from this list because a download source is experiencing hopefully temporary difficulties: where possible, alternate sources will be included.
