More than two years in the making, I believe this to be a masterpiece; and a clean o要e at that.
Assassins Armory, contrary to the name, is suitable for all types of characters. A large number of meticulously constructed high quality (Bethesda standard or better) weapons have been added to the game and with most of them a defensive partner. What makes these defensive weapons different from a shield is that you block with a combination of your Block skill and the appropriate weapon skill. All items are distributed in the same fashion as normal Morrowind weapons and are very well balanced, tested, and then tested again. Assassins Armory contains more than 100 new models and has no known incompatibilities (tested with 100's of mods).

All contents have been drastically rebalanced. Defensive weapons, for example, now bear a much lower defensive rating. Additional esp's have been added, o要e of which activates the bolt rifles(default off; it adds them to the game) and the other removes the scripts in order to allow better performance(lower end proscessors will now receive no performance hit). May of the textures have been revamped and now look a damned sight better than any other weapons I've seen. Models from the WeaponMasters WeaponPack have been added, replacing some and adding new weapons. About 10 new weapons using these models have been added.

This is a list of the weapons added and distributed throughout the game. Items with an asterix (*) next to them have a defensive partner also in the game (referred to as a reinforced weapon. For example a Defensive Gold Katana is called a Reinforced Gold Katana). Some weapons already existing in the game now have partners and are listed here. Items marked with a (+) have simply been given a new model and items marked with a (-) are of defensive form o要ly:

Great stuff! One small thing-- didn't see the bolt rifle .esp in the .zip . Okay by me, as I didn' plan of making use of that feature, but might make someone scratch their head. The arrow and noscript esps were there as well as the esm, though.

Glad to see the update-- AA has been one of my longtime favorite mods, the only issue being that all my chars are dual-wielders now. Always make me pick block as a skill . . .

oooh, comments from cortex, vagabond, cenobite and all my old buddies. i've uploaded the bolt rifles esp to tesmods.net, but dont worry. the actual stats and things are stored in the main esm, the esp only adds them to the levelled lists. those of you with bolt rifles already in their game will experience no difficulties. thanks all for the encouragment. ill probably end up doing this mod for esIV as well...

Shiny, I've always been a big fan of this mod. One question though, are the weapons still so highly valuable? I don't have any specific examples, but I seem to remember that most of the weapons in this mod were a bit over the top as far as price goes...

Looks like the creature ID "AR_SPAWN" is missing from the .esm file, but the changed script BILL_MarksDaedraSummon still refers to it. I noticed in the previous version that AR_SPAWN was less dangerous than what the BethSoft version of the script called for, too.

Also, the file "Assassins Armory - Bolt Rifles.esp" mentioned in the Readme is missing from the TESMods distribution file. And, the Readme title still refers to "V7.1".

This doesn't mean I'm saying "yer baby is ugly", it's just something I thought you'd want to know. This is a great plugin.

hmm, well the readme ALSO says 7.5 further down the page, but i really cant be stuffed uploading another version just to fix 1 typo biggrin.gif. The PRICES OF WEAPONS have been drastically rebalanced. reduced. whatever.

i've tried to fix the AR spawn thing. i have no idea why it keeps happening, or why it started happening(it started when i started using TESTOOL). good thing is it doesnt appear to have any effect on anything at all, so all is well.

Well, the new textures are alot better. I sometimes had trouble convincing myself to use them before. Now there's no question, except which one from this mod to use. I think I like the steel wrist-scythes best.

One question: Whenever I load up the game, it says that it can't find the enchantments for the arrows (Cruel, Dread and so forth.) It did this with the last Assassins Armory. Also, and this may not be a part of your mod at all, it also says something about something called bill_marksdaedraspawn or something similar not being found. Any thoughts? Other than those two little problems, everything rocks.

Sounds like you might have unchecked the Arrows add-on from an earlier version.

For the Bill script, I fixed it on my system by just removing the script because it had a bad creature reference (in the previous version, it used a custom dremora that isn't definded in the current version), so that the version of that script that comes with the game just took over. Plugin editing (especially one as large as this one) is not for the faint of heart, though.

Hmm. What I did was go into the CS, load up the mod, find everything that used the bill_marksdaedrasummon script, then take the script off.

now wtf is THAT happening. i've heard of the glitch with the nordic fur before, but i couldnt get the problem to happen myself so im stuck there.

WARNINGS ABOUT ARROWS ENCHANTING:

this only happens when you havnt got either the Assassins Armory arrows plugin OR the area effect arrows plugin installed. only just relised this. it never before occured to me that someone might not use the area effect arrows plugin.


as for teh AR spawn thing, thats my fault, although it really shouldnt do anything in game. ill release a fix, one that will fix things biggrin.gif.

If you do that, then there won't be any trapped shrine goodies at all. That's going a bit overboard. Just removing the script from the plugin itself returns the function of the original script in morrowind.esm to what it was before the plugin was loaded.

I have the area effect plugin installed and i still get that error. And five or six others.
When will the fix be ready? Because i dont play with any mods that cuases errors. And im not planning on starting on it now.

These weapons friggin rawk.

But they're terribly hard to find-in game.

The Assassin's Armory in the Morag Tong Guildhall only has a moderate selection.

Where are the bastard swords? I'm quite partial to that kind of weapon, me being...you know...a bastard and all...smile.gif

er, i think i know what the problem is. you have both the area effect arrows plugin activated AND the assassins armory arrows plugin activated. you have two of the same mod activated there. im guessing you use testool and so the duplicate references are deleted, and as such for some reason that causes bother references to be deleted. so reinstall bother of those plugins(assassins armory arrows is a separate plugin from assassins armory), and then only activate one or the other, not both.

hehe, well that would be cheating. seriously though, they're scattered everywhere, but you can get some bastard swords from the assassins armory or from meldor in balmora. bolt rifles... you have to find them. they arnt placed anywhere, but you can always add one useing the console if you're wanting to CHEAT. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
oh, and all the weapons are scattered around the place, but they wont appear much until you're a higher level.(all weapons appear about lvl 20)

A lot of meshes and such could not load, like the ceeremonial wakazishi, and many NPC's from "morrowind comes alive" have the big weird forcefield default mesh thing... What the h3ll?

woohooo! i got backed up. er, one plugin of mine i wouldnt use is indarys unleashed, actually dont use best of naked morrowind either. both are outdated and glitchy.

Like the armory though have not found a rifle yet (did get the missing .esp), as i generally live in the ashlands and don't get out much these days(nights is a different thing), is their a shop that sells one or both of them?

ALSO...how are the visual spell replacer thing coming or was it already released without me knowing?

Like the armory though have not found a rifle yet (did get the missing .esp), as i generally live in the ashlands and don't get out much these days(nights is a different thing), is their a shop that sells one or both of them?

ALSO...how are the visual spell replacer thing coming or was it already released without me knowing?

you gotta find the rifles in dwemer ruins. the standard rifle can be found from lvl 10 up, and the elitist rifle from lvl 16 up. happy hunting.

and er, about the spell replacer... yeah, um.... hey look, an oblivion poster *runs like hell*

Ahh yes i have got an answer from her. The errors is from some npc's that have moved a bit from when the mod was installed. She says that the problem should go away when the PC is in the same room as the npc. So ill guess i have to ignore the errors for a bit.

Excellent mod - loving all the weapons.

BUT! Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but there appears to be no icon for the bastard sword all I get is the crossed out smiley sad.gif

Oh, and I love Darker Morrowind - those textures make Vivec half way decent
