I was wondering if there was any way to copy an interior cell, paste and make it a new cell. I really like the vivec mages guild and think it would make a good house.

Yeah, it is possible! By the way, Vivec Mages Guild is a good choice ! Ok, first you have to go to the Vivec Mages Guild interior cell and take a real far-away look so you can see the whole thing. Then put your mouse up in a corner of the window and drag over it. You will see a box covering what you want when you drag the mouse. Now you've highlighted Vivec Mages Guild! Now to copy it just press Ctrl+C. Next go to your own cell and paste it, like you said, with Ctrl+V. Voila! You may now live in Vivec Mages Guild without Mages !!! Congratulations!

More or less as easy as you just described.

Select all the objects you want to copy.

To do this, hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor so that you highlight a multiple selection of objects. Then either add or remove objects to/from the multiple selection by holding down the 'Ctrl' key and clicking each object individually.

When you are happy with the selection, select "Edit/Copy Render" or 'Ctrl + C' keys.

Create a new cell and open it in the Render Window.

Now select "Edit/Paste in Place" (Ctrl + Shift + V).

If you missed anything, you can go back to the other cell and copy objects individually, provided that you use "Paste in place" (rather than just "Paste Render") the objects will be pasted in their correct positions in the new cell.

Shouldn't be hard. Just select everything in the mages guild cell and press ctrl-c. Then make a new cell and press ctrl-v. Then you'll have to change the doormarkers so they take you in and out of the new cell instead of the mages guild.

[edit]dang--too slow....

As others have said, yes.

It is a good way to generally mass build interiors the next time you;re building a large city. You need to obviously go in and shuffle the furniture around, change the tapestries and carpets and get rid of anytthing that doesnt 'fit in' (oh, and change the ownership), but it is otherwise a really good way of either learning how complex statics link together or producing loads and loads of interiors in a relatively quick period of time.

Thanks a lot you guys, excuse me while I copy Vivec.
How do you take off the ownership of the items? (ei. boxes, barrels, and beds)

Open up the properties of the object in question, in the Reference Data section there's a drop-list called 'Owner'. To remove ownership, set it to blank (first option in the drop-list).

If you have a lot of object to change ownership of, a big time saver is to sort by owner (click the "ownership" tab in the cell view window, select all the objects that have a name in the ownership field. Then in the render window, double click one one them, and in the dialog set the owner to blank and click the button below that says "Apply to Selcetion" That will do all the selected items at once.

Oh and don't click save, that'll mess things up. Just click the 'x' to close the dialog.
